FAQs

Q: How long can we take to load our container? 

A: As far as Storage Valet is concerned, you can take as long as you’d like.  Some colleges are restrictive due to limited space, (you may inquire with student services)

Q: Where will my container be placed?   How do I know my approved location?

A:  We will deliver your container to College Facilities pre-approved locations.  link to View Drop-Off Locations .  You do not need to meet the driver at any time.

Q: How will I know which container is mine? 

A: Once we drop off the container, we will send you a text message and an email with your container number.  If you ordered supplies, they will be inside the container. Please look for the container in the closest to you.

Q: How many students are able to share the box?

A:  One 5’x8’x7′ container can easily be shared by 4-5 (or more) students – It will hold the equivalent of 60 Medium (18″ x 18″ x 16″) cardboard boxes.

Q: How do we let you know when the box is full and ready for pick up? 

A:  Once your container is dropped you will start to receive a daily email with a link.  Click on the link when the container is ready for pick up.  You will also receive a daily text message – reply to the message with the word ‘Ready’ and we will know the container is ready for pick up.  No need to call us.  No need to meet the driver.

Q: How do I order redelivery in when I’m returning? 

A:  If you know the date and location for redelivery, you can input it on the order.  If you do not or are not sure, do not input anything.  We will contact you by email before the start of the semester so that you can let us know.

Q: What if I need redelivery in August 1 – 2 weeks prior to my classmate(s) returning?  Can the container stay on campus?

A:  The container can stay on campus.  If you prefer, we can pick up the container and then bring it back to campus but additional delivery charges will apply 

Q: What is the cost to make an extra delivery back to campus?(pick up partially full, then redeliver again at a later date?)

A: The cost for an additional pickup and delivery is $199 

Q: How long can we keep the container on campus to unload? 

A:  Once we redeliver the container, it will stay on campus until it is completely empty and left unlocked. With that said, please empty the container as fast as you can. Once classes start, the Facilities office will be pressuring Storage Valet to remove the containers as quickly as possible.

Q: Where will my container be placed (or how do I let you know where to place) in August to unload?
A:  If you know the date and location for redelivery, you can input it on the order.  If you do not or are not sure, do not input anything.  We will contact you by email before the start of the semester so that you can let us know.

Q: What if I need my container delivered to an off campus location?  How do I let you know the location? 

A: On the order, please let us know that you live off campus and include the address. 

Q: How long can the container remain on an offsite (apt. – sr housing) location when I return to campus?

A:  Container will remain on campus until it is completely empty.

Q: How do I let you know when to pick up my empty container? 

A: You don’t need to contact us to pick up empty container.  Our drivers are constantly on campus looking to pick up all empty containers – but they have to be completely empty and unlocked in order for the container to be picked up.

Q: What is the latest date we are able to keep our container on campus to unload?

A: Facilities office will start pressuring Storage Valet to pick up empty containers once classes start as they don’t want containers sitting around campus very long.
